Brookings Book Company is a new and used book store based in South Dakota. We first opened in 1998 and since then we've amassed a broad selection of reading material ranging from antique books to the newest manga and comic book releases. Whatever it is you're looking for, we want to help you find it!

At Brookings Book Company we consider acceptance, accessibility, and community to be important tenets. Because of this we're committed to stocking titles on diverse topics and keeping 'banned' books available to those who wish to read them. Everyone is welcome in our store, and we will do our darnedest to make it feel so.

Dakota Comics (which you may have seen linked in a couple places around here) is our sister website. On the Dakota Comics site you'll find all of our new graphic novels, manga, and single issue comics. Even though it's a separate website, all orders from both online stores are pulled and packed in one place - our physical location in Brookings.

If you're nearby, we'd love for you to drop by and visit us. Our physical location is a lot of fun to browse. Plus, we've got a cat! Additionally, if you live nearby and want to place an order through our site you can select the 'Pick up' option at checkout to save on shipping.
